The Women behind The Couture Closet
Lauren Montgomery and Tera Sartini saw a need in Louisville Kentucky that was not being fulfilled. As many of their friends were getting married they continually heard the same story again and again. Brides-to-be were headed out of town to find that perfect gown for their big day. Having both gone to school for event management and planning to become wedding coordinators they decided to set their sights on the retail side of the wedding business. So in 2005 Lauren and Tera started their extensive research and wrote a business plan that would change their lives. After being turned down at bank after bank because of lack of collateral, a private investor stepped in and lent the two enough money to make their dream a reality. Construction of The Couture Closet began in the summer of 2006 and they opened their doors in La Grange Kentucky in January 2007.
The Couture Closets Concept
Brides in the Louisville area were headed out of town to find the gowns they saw in the pages of all the wedding magazines. These girls saw the beautifully crafted designer gowns and had no place to buy them locally. The Couture Closet researched top designers in the wedding industry and chose ones that were not found anywhere around the Louisville area. Featuring three wedding gown designers and three bridesmaid designers The Couture Closet covers the bases in styles and prices. The Couture Closet is not just selling you your dream gown but also an experience and hopefully a memory that will be special to you for the rest of your life.

The historic town of La Grange houses quaint shops and great eateries, it is a place you can spend a day relaxing with your family. Even though you are only 25 minutes from Louisville it feels like you took a weekend trip to find your special gown. After shopping for your gown enjoy all the great treasures that La Grange has to offer such as great boutiques, art galleries, delicious restaurants, and a train that runs right down the middle of the street! The Couture Closet is easy to find by taking Interstate 71 North to exit 22, if you are headed to Cincinnati to look for your bridal gown stop at The Couture Closet first and enjoy a bridal shopping experience like none other.
